The Official UK EPC Database
The EPC Register is the UK government’s official database of all issued Energy Performance Certificates.
It’s managed by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) and holds details for both domestic and commercial properties.
How It Works
When an accredited energy assessor completes your EPC, it is uploaded to the National EPC Register.
Each certificate is assigned a unique reference number (known as the RRN) and becomes available for public viewing online.
You can access the register at:

What You Can Do on the EPC Register
- Search for an existing EPC by postcode or property address
- Check your certificate’s expiry date
- Download a copy of your EPC
- View recommendations for improving energy efficiency
Why It’s Important
The EPC Register ensures transparency and compliance.
Buyers, tenants, and landlords can verify that a property has a valid, government-approved certificate before any transaction takes place.
EPC Cumbria and the Register
All EPCs produced by EPC Cumbria are officially logged on the government register — so you can rest assured that your certificate is 100% valid and compliant.
